Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026Operated by Verbolta LLC

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Tractex (“we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and who processes it on our behalf. It concerns personal data about our users — not the public property-owner records Tractex helps you research, which are addressed in our Data Disclaimer.

What we collect

  • Account data — name, email, and organization details, handled through our authentication provider (Clerk).
  • Workspace content — the searches you run and the parcels, notes, pipeline stages, and settings you save.
  • Service records — how many searches and AI requests your workspace makes and what they cost, used to apply your plan’s daily limits, plus the standard request logs our hosting provider keeps.
  • Sign-in activity — while you use Tractex, which device (browser and system) and approximate city (from your network address) your sign-in is in use from, so that a seat is used by one person at a time. The latest is kept for minutes; when one device takes over from another, that is noted in your workspace’s activity log.
  • Messages you send us — what you enter in the contact form: your name and email, your message, and anything you choose to add — your company, role, team size, the projects and counties you work on, and your timeline.
  • Billing data — if you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.

How we use it

  • To provide, secure, and improve Tractex and to operate your workspace;
  • To process searches, including sending your prompt text to our AI provider;
  • To communicate with you about your account, billing, and service changes;
  • To comply with law and enforce our Terms and Acceptable Use Policy.

Processors and subprocessors

We use trusted third parties to run Tractex. These receive data today, each only as needed for the feature named:

  • Clerk — authentication and organization management;
  • Supabase — application database and storage;
  • Vercel — application hosting;
  • Anthropic — AI processing of search prompts and letter drafts;
  • Google Maps Platform — geocoding;
  • Mapbox — map rendering;
  • Upstash — rate limiting and caching;
  • Stripe — subscription billing and payment processing;
  • Resend — email, including alerts and the messages you send us through the contact form.

Tractex uses no product analytics and no third-party error monitoring. We do not track your behaviour in the app, and no session-replay, analytics, or crash-reporting service receives anything about your use of it. We will update this page before that changes.

We share personal data with these processors only as needed to provide the service, and we do not sell your personal data.

Public map layers: when you switch on the flood-zone or wetland layers on a map, your browser loads those map images directly from the public map servers of FEMA and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which receive an ordinary web request from your browser.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. You can also manage much of your account information directly in Tractex.

Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide Tractex, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Saved workspace data is retained until you or your organization deletes it.

Cookies and local storage

Tractex uses cookies only to keep you signed in, through our authentication provider. Your browser’s own storage remembers your preferences (such as the colour theme) and a short list of the parcels and searches you opened recently, which never leaves your device, and holds your current search while the tab is open. It also notes which account last signed in on that browser, so that if someone else signs in there, your recent searches are cleared rather than shown to them. There are no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
